Big Read Week |
||
Two people came into school, one a storyteller and one a play
writer at Lower farm school when it was the big read week. The
storyteller told us a few stories that were really good and then told us how
to write our own stories and told us a few things about him. I really enjoyed the storyteller coming into school because I now know how to
write my own stories without any help. We also had a play writer come into
school, he told us a really good story, we only heard half of it but it was
still really, really good.
It was about the only two men in the world and they fell out of a
tree. The one man, everything that he saw in his dream came true. He saw in
his dream all of the animals in the world and they wanted a leader. So they
all got together and snake went up and said that the animals should choose
him for their leader because he would be great. Then it was raven’s turn,
everyone loved raven, he had a great voice, he was a beautiful singer and a
lovely dancer, and everyone wanted him to be leader. Then frog came rushing
in saying “But is he brave?” The raven
knew he wasn’t but said he was. “If you are you will go to the Sunwolf and
get a piece of the sun off him.” So the raven went all he way up the mountain
to the Sunwolfs house. He banged on the door demanding to come in and the
Sunwolf let him in. To get a piece of the sun raven danced so fast that it
made the Sunwolf go giddy and he fell to the floor. Raven went to the sun and
got a piece. The sun was so hot that by the time he got back down to the
animals he couldn’t dance and his voice was horrible, the animals no longer
wanted him for their leader. Raven was mad and chucked the piece of sun into
the forest. The whole world was full of fire and just then the man woke up
and that is all that he read to us.
The play writer then told us how to turn a story into a play. He then chose some people to act a part of
the story out and I was one of them. I was one of the animals, a dog. I had
to act really daft and silly. I really enjoyed the big read week at
