Year 3 & 4 Photos - Wednesday

They sung the songs from the Road Safety adverts too.

The day started with Venus Class’s Assembly on Road Safety.

Today was EIU Day – Economic and Industrial Understanding Day.

The children were organised into groups that included children from every 3/ 4 and 5/6 class.

They worked in mixed age teams on a design brief. All of the briefs were for safety items. By the end of the day they had a prototype for their design and an advert.

Each classroom group chose the best design from their room to go forward to the final in the Hall.

These were then judged by Richard Clarke, Dawn Hodges-Adcock and Mrs King and certificates were awarded for the best overall design and the best advert. The class teachers also awarded certificates for the best team players during the day.

The children were all given specific jobs to do.

The buyers were the only people allowed to go out to the shop to purchase extra materials to make their prototypes.

Some children worked on the advert, others on the product and one child acted as the representative for their team. They were the only member of the team allowed to talk to the teacher (the manager) to get advice and to feedback to the manager about their team’s progress.
