Venus class used the digital camera to
take photographs and then opened these in Colour Magic. They then
experimented with ways of removing half of the image, for example by colouring
it in white with a square brush or by drawing a large rectangle and filling
it in white. Once they had half an image of
themselves, they printed it out and used it as the basis for a self portrait,
filling in the other half using pencil. They had to create depth and tone by
shading and using a variety of pressures.
