Year 5 and 6 have been experiencing the
world of work during Newsroom Week. They have created an online newspaper in
one day. They looked at paper newspapers and online
newspapers to learn about the structure and organisation of the writing. They had jobs within the newsroom and
worked in teams to create the paper.
Each section has its own web page and links to other sections in the newspaper
or to files that can be opened – such as a Hot Potato Quiz. They collected information, took
photographs, wrote the text, edited their work and published it – in the same
way that a real newsroom would. Click on the Links to see their websites The children also made newspaper
